RenderMan Free to the Public SoonNews
Soon (such as in the next couple of months) Pixar will be releasing their rendering program. I feel like I have to specify that it is the rendering program they used when it came to their movies like Wall-E, Up, and Toy Story. So, if you are someone that is interested in animating, or you could use a good rendering program, then now would be your chance to get your hands on a program that normally costs $500 for commercial use.
Do not be fooled, this is not an animation program! You will need another program, and then use this as your rendering program to make everything all pretty. I am not horribly knowledgeable when it comes to these programs, what you need, what you do not need, but of course the one thing I do know is that you’ll need something else to go hand in hand with their rendering program, RenderMan.
If you want to get your hands on RenderMan then you can go to their registration form, and you will be able to download the program when it is available in a couple of months. Keep in mind, that this free version of the program is specified that it should only be used for non-commercial use only. So, basically watch out if you plan on trying to make money from anything you render using this free program, you might get in a wee bit of trouble.
For those of you who might get this program, or maybe you already do animating, rendering of this kind of stature… make sure you show us some of your work! We would love to see it.
