Let’s Celebrate Video Game Music

Culture, Music, News, Opinon

Look I love summer just as much as the next guy, but when it comes to all things video game, summer can be such a drag. With the exception of E3, it’s like the entire industry takes an extended vacation. The number of games released are at their yearly low and anything that’s supposed to come out tends to get delayed. To help cope with this drought we’ve decided to take the time to celebrate another vital aspect of video games, the music.

Now I’m not one to brag, but I’d like to think of myself as a video game music connoisseur, I mean my iPod is filled with tracks from some of my favorite games. Seriously though, video game music is such a beautiful and compelling part of the larger art form that we felt it pertinent we share our love for it with you.

What we plan to do is actually quite simple. From time to time we will be posting some of over favorite musical tracks from video games for all to enjoy. What we hope is to introduce you to a realm of video games that you might have overlooked in the past. Unless of course you’re like myself, in which case this will give you an opportunity to reconnect with some of your favorite games and/or hear songs that you never knew existed. Heck maybe you have a favorite track of your own that you’d like to share, we insist you do. Nevertheless, this is sure to bring you a greater appreciation to the intricacies of video games. Cue the music.
