Victory Games Behind Command and Conquer Shut DownNews
If you are a fan of the Command and Conquer games, unfortunately you are going to be disappointed to hear that they just axed their latest game in the series.
“Your feedback from the alpha trial is clear: We are not making the game you want to play,” said a representative for the developer Victory Games, in a blog post that had been published this afternoon. “This is why, after much difficult deliberation, we have decided to cease production of this version of the game.”
Unfortunately, any time a game is cancelled like this, there can be two things that happen. Either they are going to revisit the game, and attempt to turn it into something the consumers want, or they completely shut down the studio. In this case it seems that the studio is getting shut down. Employees from Victory Games have been tweeting about EA shutting down the studio, which has been working on the new Command and Conquer game for the past three years, but has not released any other games.
If interested you can see where one of the employees has been tweeting HERE. Sometimes you can see a little more behind the scene details, and just how much it is affecting these guys. It is an unfortunate process, and I really do hope for the best for all the employees that have lost their jobs/getting laid off right now. I am sure they will all find a job that they will be able to do great things in the near future.
