Rumor: Activision-Blizzard Getting SoldNews
You might have heard the rumors that there could be a possible sale of Activision-Blizzard after Vivendi CEO Jean-Bernard Levy this week. Vivendi owns 61% of Activision-Blizzard, and Levy has reportedly walked over a disagreement about splitting up the French holding company.
How this is going to affect Activision-Blizzard remains to be seen, but Bloomberg says that Vivendi is looking to sell its entire stake. This is according to “a person with knowledge of the situation.” According to the Wall Street Journal Vivendi’s board of directors are going to be considering whether or not to split the company, which in turn could potentially affect Blizzard and their titles such as World of Warcraft and Diablo III. Ultimately, all we can hope as gamers is that if the company is split our games will not be harmed, or if they are kept together the same notion applies. We can just keep our fingers crossed that we can enjoy the games that we’ve been enjoying for years without interruption. Whoever buys them, if they are even sold, will hopefully be dedicated into keeping them as great as they are, or even making them better.
What do you think is going to happen? Do you think Activision-Blizzard is going to be split up, or do you think they will keep everything together? How do you think it will, or maybe won’t affect the games that Blizzard controls?
